Berga Nami is a Latvian residential property management company serving apartment buildings in Riga and the surrounding region. The company provides building management, administration, technical maintenance and cleaning services, with a strong emphasis on transparency and modern service delivery. This case study does not describe the development of Berga Nami's public website. It focuses on the operational work management system and workflow redesign behind maintenance request management, internal business processes and responsibility transfer.
01
Berga Nami was operating in a property management environment where administrative work depended on fragmented systems and manual workflows. Operational requests were difficult to track, administrative coordination was expensive and visibility across processes was limited.
02
The challenge was not a lack of software. The challenge was fragmented operational workflows that created duplicated administration, manual coordination and limited visibility across the organisation. Before the platform could become useful, the work itself had to become easier to understand.
03
Understand how requests, responsibilities and exceptions moved through the organisation.
Separate software symptoms from the underlying operational workflow problem.
Remove unnecessary handovers, duplicated administration and ambiguous ownership.
Define the request management model, workflow logic, responsibility transfer model and product structure.
Use Odoo to support the simplified process instead of encoding the old complexity.
04
The delivered system unified request management, operational workflows, automation and business process optimisation into one source of truth. A work management layer introduced mention-driven responsibility, allowing responsibility to move through the organisation by explicitly mentioning the next accountable person inside the workflow. Odoo became the platform layer, but the primary value came from clarifying how operational work should move through the business.

What We Learned
Organisations rarely suffer from a lack of software. They suffer from unnecessary operational complexity.
Digital transformation starts with simplifying workflows, not implementing platforms.
Every manual process becomes expensive when repeated thousands of times.
Operational visibility is a decision-making asset, not only a reporting feature.
